Built to be used
We sell equipment that gets people through doors. A website that locks people out would be a strange thing for us to ship.
What we target
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and body text is set to the stricter Level AAA contrast ratio of 7:1 rather than the 4.5:1 that AA requires.
What that means in practice
- Every button, link and form field is at least 44 by 44 pixels.
- The whole site works with a keyboard alone, and the focus outline is always visible.
- Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 pixel screen, and stays readable at 200% zoom.
- Animation is switched off automatically if your system asks for reduced motion.
- Every form field has a real label, and errors are announced rather than shown only in color.
- Headings are in order, landmarks are marked up, and there is a skip link to the main content.
How it is checked
Automated testing alone is not enough — it catches roughly a third of real problems. This site is checked three ways: an automated audit with axe-core, a Lighthouse accessibility pass, and a manual run through every page with a keyboard and a screen reader. It is then re-checked on a schedule rather than once at launch.
